About Us

Winchester Public School is located in Brooklin, Ontario and serves students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.

Principal’s message

It is with great pleasure that we take this opportunity to welcome you to Winchester P.S.

The school opened it’s doors in 2000, and is now home to almost 600 students and 55 dedicated staff members.  Our school now houses Full Day Kindergarten to Grade 8 programs including a School Support Program, a Practical Living Program and a before and after school daycare program.  At Winchester PS, we are proud to offer two calendar programs to meet the needs of the families we serve.  The modified calendar schooling begins in August and runs through to the end of June with multiple breaks during the school year.  We also offer regular calendar schooling, which begins after Labour Day and runs to the end of June, with traditional scheduled breaks.

We are very proud of our academic, arts and athletics programs, as well as numerous extra-curricular activities.  Students at Winchester P.S. have the opportunity to participate in many leadership opportunities including the running of clubs and participating in tournaments that are held at our school and in and around the Durham Region.  We encourage all students to become actively involved in the various aspects of school life at Winchester P.S.  We are also very proud of the partnership we have with our parents/guardians, volunteers and the School Community Council. These people contribute to the positive culture and student achievement at school.

On behalf of the staff, I would like to welcome our new and returning students to Winchester PS and it is with great excitement and expectation, that all our students will have a rewarding and successful year. At Winchester PS, EVERYONE BELONGS!
